Working with the Professional Engineers in our office you will assist with various tasks and duties deed to utilize and develop your professional skills and knowledge. This will help you transition what you have learned in the classroom to a real working environment. The successful candidate will assist a wide variety of client types from architects, developers, property owners and real estate professionals.
An intern will prepare permit applications and cost estimates and become skilled at or gain additional knowledge of AutoCAD and utilize it for preparation of project plan sets. Interns will work on a variety of land development projects. Interns may have the opportunity to work with other departments in our firm including survey and construction inspection. Giffels Webster has a strong commitment to using multi-disciplinary approaches to making communities better. The qualified candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of practical technical experience. The successful candidate will have the ability to see the bigger picture when creating plans for a community. The position will service our municipal clients in a variety of project needs in and around Metro Detroit. The qualified candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience with MDOT inspection experience being preferred directly or local agency projects. The successful candidate will assist our municipal clients by providing technical knowledge, management and administrative skills in the field and have a thorough understanding of the construction process. You will work with coworkers, clients, contractors and other consultants to monitor construction quality by ensuring projects are in accordance with schedules, budgets, construction plans, engineering specifications and standards.
